Bleap Card is a Debit Card

  • Debit Card
  • Credit Card
  • Prepaid Card
  • No Bank Account Offered

While Bleap Card works like a debit card, it isn't linked to a traditional bank account. Instead, you keep a fiat balance in your Bleap account that the card spends from. Unlike a prepaid card, that balance isn't locked - you can withdraw it anytime.

It Comes in Both Physical and Virtual Forms

You can get Bleap Card in both physical and virtual versions, a feature only available with 30% of crypto cards. They'll mail you the physical card, and you can instantly get the virtual card online after completing KYC Identity Verification.

Crypto-to-EUR Conversion Cost with Bleap Card

Bleap Card Requires Pre-Load

Before you can use your Bleap Card, you will need to top-up your account. This means you will have to convert your crypto in advance, exchanging it to EUR and moving it to the card account, to make it available for spending.

Low Cost:Compared to the average ~1.6% crypto-to-fiat cost of other cards, converting crypto with Bleap Card is much more cost-effective (~0.3% + Gas Fees). This means that you will get more EUR for your crypto when using this card.

How Does Bleap Make Money? – I only see ~0.3% broker spread here. Am I missing something?

Every time you make a payment with your Bleap Card, the merchant (Starbucks, Amazon, etc.) pays a small fee on that transaction to their bank that operates the POS terminal. This is called the interchange fee. The merchant's bank passes part of that fee to Mastercard, and they share a portion of it with Bleap.

So while you don't pay a fee directly as a cardholder, Bleap still earns a small amount from every transaction you make — that's how card providers make money.

From all crypto cards we reviewed for Europe, WhiteBIT Card, Holyheld Card and Trade Republic Card offer the cheapest crypto-to-fiat conversions (~0.28%, ~0.5% and ~0.7% respectively), while converting crypto with OWNR Card will cost you the most, ~4.64%.

How Does Bleap Card Compare to Other Crypto Cards?

Bleap Card ranks #15 out of 67 amongst all the crypto cards we have reviewed so far. This means it's in the Top 30%.

In addition, Bleap Card ranks #7 out of 18 amongst Non-Custodial Crypto Cards.

We compared Bleap Card with 40 similar crypto cards, available for the same geographical region. See the resulting pros and cons below.

Strongest Features Against Competitors

Here are the strongest features of Bleap Card against its 40 competitors:

  • Offers impressive maximum cashback of up to 20% (other cards have an average of 4%).
  • Has a Foreign Exchange Fee of 0% (other cards have 1.5% average).
  • Offers a generous 15,000 EUR daily spend limit (other cards offer 10,000 EUR limit on average).
  • You can get both a physical card and a second virtual card (while 70% of competing crypto cards offer only one type - either physical or just virtual).
  • You won't be charged any monthly fee (while 20% of other crypto cards charge one, with a median of 1.6 EUR per month).
  • Offers free ATM withdrawals for up to 400 EUR per month (which is very generous comparing to the average of 200 EUR free withdrawal limit offered by other cards).
  • Cost to withdraw cash from a local ATM is really low at ~1.8% (comparing to the average of ~4.3% when withdrawing with other cards.)
  • Their overall fees & limits structure is incredibly generous, with a score of 10/10 (average fees & limits structure rating amongst other cards is 6.2/10).
  • This crypto card is non-custodial, which means you keep the keys to your crypto assets and can connect your own wallet. You have full control, unlike with custodial cards that manage your crypto assets.
  • Physical and virtual cards are issued free of charge (while most other crypto cards charge at least for the physical card).

Weakest Features Against Competitors

Compared to its 40 competitors, here are the shortcomings of Bleap Card:

  • Lesser-known company with a 3.5/10 brand authority score (the average for all competing cards is 6/10).
  • Requires preconversion of crypto to load the card (while 40% of competitors auto-convert on every purchase).
  • Bleap Card vs. Phantom Card vs. Tria Card

If you plan to use your card for daily purchases, then daily spending limit is an important consideration for you. Tria Card offers the highest daily spending limit of 1,000,000 USD. You will get lower daily limits with Bleap Card and Phantom Card.

Cashback rewards are a great way to earn back some of the money you spend on your card and is an important consideration as well. Out of the three, Bleap Card offers the best cashback rewards of up to 20%. The cashback rewards for Tria Card are not as high. With Phantom Card, you will have no cashback rewards at all.

To make a good choice, look through all features, as it is an individual choice. If you will mostly do online transactions with this card, then Apple Pay availability may not be a very important feature for you. If you travel a lot, foreign exchange rate will matter. And so on.
