Based Card Benefits and Rewards
Based Card offers 2-4% cashback, but the monthly cashback caps are pretty low:
| Tier | Cashback | Cashback Cap | Extra Bonuses |
| Orange
(coming soon) |
0% | – | – |
| Hype
10,000 $BASED Staked ~700 USD¹ |
2% | 20$ | $10/month on ChatGPT & Claude |
| Gold
100,000 $BASED Staked ~7,000 USD¹ |
4% | 100$ | $20/month on Netflix + $100/month on ChatGPT & Claude. Plus, 4 airport lounge visits per year. |
You receive cashback in $BASED tokens at the start of each month. Since the $BASED token has already launched (TGE was in March 2026), you can convert the cashback into USDC or USDT right away and then spend or withdraw it.
Reality CheckSome other crypto cards advertise higher cashback %, but you may end up earning less because their monthly cashback caps are much lower. When compared at the entry-level tier, Based Card's 2% cashback offers similar value comparing to competitors:
| Based Card | Industry Average1 | |
| Entry Level Cashback | 2% | 1% |
| Entry Level Cashback Monthly Cap | 20 USD | 50 USD |

Based Card is a Debit Card
Based Card differs from a traditional debit card, where the balance is linked directly to your bank account.
With Based, you'll need to top up your card before use. It should be noted that Based doesn't offer a bank account with this card, as some crypto cards do, which means you won't be able to receive third-party payments, like fiat withdrawals from exchanges, for example.
It Comes in Both Physical and Virtual Forms
You can get Based Card in either a physical or virtual version. The virtual card is instantly available online after completing KYC Identity Verification. Applying for and activating a physical card will replace the virtual one.
Wondering about the perks of each card type? Here are some highlights:
Physical Card | Virtual Card |
|---|---|
| Required for Car Rentals, Hotels | No Tangible Asset |
| Useful When Phone Dies, or no Wifi | No Apple Pay, Online Use Only |
| Backup Payment Method | Instant Availability |
Cost to Order: 70 USD | Cost to Order: 0 USD |
Get the Physical Card:Since Based Card doesn't support Apple Pay, the virtual card is only good for online shopping and subscriptions like Netflix. It is a much better choice to get the physical card, so you could use the card both online and in real life.

From all crypto cards we reviewed, KAST Card, Offramp Card and OKX Card offer the cheapest crypto-to-fiat conversions (~0%, ~0% and ~0.1% respectively), while converting crypto with OWNR Card will cost you the most, ~4.64%.

If you plan to use your card for daily purchases, then daily spending limit is an important consideration for you. Ether.fi Card offers the highest daily spending limit of 50,000 USD. You will get lower daily limits with Based Card and Phantom Card.
Cashback rewards are a great way to earn back some of the money you spend on your card and is an important consideration as well. Out of the three, Ether.fi Card offers the best cashback rewards of up to 3%. The cashback rewards for Based Card are not as high. With Phantom Card, you will have no cashback rewards at all.
To make a good choice, look through all features, as it is an individual choice. If you will mostly do online transactions with this card, then Apple Pay availability may not be a very important feature for you. If you travel a lot, foreign exchange rate will matter. And so on.
