Best Crypto Cards for Prop Traders: Pay Your Challenge Fees and Earn Cashback

Prop Tradersomeone who trades the firm's money, not their own.

Hi. 😉

If you’re a professional prop trader who runs a whole fleet of accounts, you’re in the right place.

Your Money Flow
as a Prop Trader

When picking a crypto card, you will care about:

1. USD-denominated vs EUR-denominated

You will want to pick a USD-denominated card so that deposits in USDC or USDT you receive from Prop Firms can be easily converted to USD in the crypto card app, with 1:1 or minimal fees. Most of the world’s stablecoins are USD-pegged anyway, so you will want to optimize your money flow to not have to pay conversion fees. If you pick a EUR-denominated card, then paying your fees priced in USD will cost you extra in foreign exchange fees. FX fees can go up to 2.5%.

2. Crypto-to-fiat conversion cost

Even though you’ll be converting USDC to USD, some cards charge a fee for this conversion, or have a hidden spread in the exchange rate. You’ll want a card that’s as close to 1:1 conversion as possible. This conversion cost can vary greatly - out of 76 crypto cards we reviewed so far, the average is ~1.5% and the highest is 4.6% for conversion. The best ones have 1:1 at 0% cost to you.

3. Foreign Exchange Fee

If you pay your challenge fees in USD, the FX fee won’t affect you. But if you live outside of the United States, you’ll still want to pick a card with a 0%-1% FX fee, as you might also use it in your home country for daily spend - coffee, pizza, etc.

4. Spend Limit

Some cards have a tiny spend limit, and the average amongst all cards we tested is around ~$31,000 USD. You will want to pick a card that has Unlimited Spend or a very high limit, so you don’t have to worry about your options when a prop firm sends you a significant profit share and you want to offramp it.

5. Cashback

You will definitely want to offset some of your costs, so pick a card with a cashback program wisely. Some cards have small monthly caps on how much cashback you can earn per month, so you will want to upgrade to a top tier - usually by staking or paying a yearly fee - get a nice metal card or even a solid gold card in some cases, and rake in the maximum cashback. Often, your card fees will be lower on the top tier too, with extra perks like airport lounges, AI spend discounts, etc.

… and KYC

You’ll want a card that supports your country for KYC. You seem to be located in United States right now, so we’ll highlight which cards support United States. If you still can’t find a suitable card, see our list of 20 crypto cards that support United States.

Here’s our top picks for you, based on all the above criteria.
