Crypto-to-EUR Conversion Cost with Plutus Card

Plutus Card Requires Pre-Load

Before you can use your Plutus Card, you will need to top-up your account. This means you will have to convert your crypto in advance, exchanging it to EUR and moving it to the card account, to make it available for spending.

Total Crypto to EUR Cost~0.5% + Gas Fees

Low Cost:Compared to the average ~1.7% crypto-to-fiat cost of other cards, converting crypto with Plutus Card is much more cost-effective (~0.5% + Gas Fees). This means that you will get more EUR for your crypto when using this card.

From all crypto cards we reviewed for Europe, WhiteBIT Card, Holyheld Card and Trade Republic Card offer the cheapest crypto-to-fiat conversions (~0.28%, ~0.5% and ~0.7% respectively), while converting crypto with OWNR Card will cost you the most, ~4.64%.

How Does Plutus Card Compare to Other Crypto Cards?

In addition, Plutus Card ranks #7 out of 11 amongst Non-Custodial Crypto Cards.

Strongest Features Against Competitors

Here are the strongest features of Plutus Card against its 36 competitors:

  • Offers impressive maximum cashback of up to 9% (other cards have an average of 4%).
  • You can get both a physical card and a second virtual card (while 60% of competing crypto cards offer only one type - either physical or just virtual).
  • Their overall fee structure is incredibly budget-friendly, with a score of 7/10 (average fee structure rating amongst other cards is 5.9/10).
  • This crypto card is non-custodial, which means you keep the keys to your crypto assets and can connect your own wallet. You have full control, unlike with custodial cards that manage your crypto assets.

Weakest Features Against Competitors

Compared to its 36 competitors, here are the shortcomings of Plutus Card:

  • Apple Pay isn't enabled (while 60% of competing crypto cards have it).
  • Limits entry-level cashback to 7 EUR per month (while other cards have 15 EUR average monthly cap for the base tier).
  • Daily spend is capped at 2,500 EUR (while other cards offer 10,500 EUR daily spend limit on average).
  • Supports only 2 cryptocurrencies, ETH and PLU (while other cards support an average of 15).
  • Less-known company with a 3.5/10 company strength score (the average for all competing cards is 6/10).
  • Requires preconversion of crypto to load the card (while 30% of competitors auto-convert on every purchase).
  • Doesn't offer any free ATM withdrawals (in contrast to 50% of crypto cards which offer an average of 200 EUR free withdrawal allowance per month).
  • Supports only one blockchain, Ethereum (while other non-custodial cards support an average of 6 blockchains).
  • Plutus Card vs. Offramp Card vs. Holyheld Card

If you plan to use your card for daily purchases, then daily spending limit is an important consideration for you. Offramp Card offers an unparalleled Unlimited daily spending limit. You will get lower daily limits with Plutus Card and Holyheld Card.

Cashback rewards are a great way to earn back some of the money you spend on your card and is an important consideration as well. Out of the three, Plutus Card offers the best cashback rewards of up to 9%. The cashback rewards for Holyheld Card are not as high. With Offramp Card, you will have no cashback rewards at all.

To make a good choice, look through all features, as it is an individual choice. If you will mostly do online transactions with this card, then Apple Pay availability may not be a very important feature for you. If you travel a lot, foreign exchange rate will matter. And so on.
