Kinesis Card Benefits and Rewards – for Europe
If you choose to set up KAU (Kinesis Gold) and KAG (Kinesis Silver) as your preferred currencies to be spent when using the card, you will qualify for Velocity Yield rewards.
Velocity Yield is paid monthly into the user’s Kinesis wallet and is calculated as a percentage of the transaction fees generated by the Kinesis Monetary System. Kinesis gives back a 57.5% share of all transaction fees to its users, proportionately distributed and paid monthly in KAG and KAU.
With Kinesis Card, you can set up up to 5 currencies (in the order of preference), to be spent when using the card. That is, you don’t need to top up your card, and funds will be directly converted from your chosen cryptocurrency in your Kinesis account to EUR at the moment of purchase. To qualify for rewards, you will need to set up KAG and KAU as your primary currencies for the card.
The more you use the Kinesis Card (while automatically converting your KAG and KAU to EUR), the more Velocity Yield you can earn.
If you choose to spend any other cryptocurrencies with Kinesis Card, you will not qualify for Velocity Yield.
p.s. There is no card cashback program that Kinesis offers at the moment. Kinesis used to have a cashback voucher program, but they discontinued it on July 14, 2023.
Kinesis Card is a Prepaid Card
Kinesis Card is a prepaid card, linked to the crypto coin balance on the Kinesis platform.
It should be noted that Kinesis doesn't offer a bank account with this card (while some crypto cards do), which means you won't be able to receive third-party payments, like fiat withdrawals from exchanges, for example.
It's Issued Solely in Virtual Form, Lacking a Physical Version
Kinesis Card is available solely in virtual format, unlike 30% of crypto cards offering both physical and virtual versions. This means you cannot use it for ATM withdrawals, or at places like car rental companies or hotels that require a physical card for security deposit and identity verification. The virtual card will be issued to you instantly after you complete the KYC Identity Verification.
Wondering about the pros and cons of virtual-only format? Here are some highlights:
No Physical Card | Virtual Card |
---|---|
No ATM Withdrawals | Instantly Available, No Waiting for Mail |
No Card when Hotels or Car Rentals Require it | Ideal for Online Purchases |
No Card When Phone Dies or no Internet | Environmentally Friendly |
No Feel-Good Backup Payment Method | No Tangible Item to Misplace |
Useful:Since Kinesis Card supports Apple Pay, you can still use this card in real life, to pay for everyday purchases.
Crypto-to-EUR Conversion Cost with Kinesis Card
Kinesis Card Converts Your Crypto on Demand
Kinesis Card offers instant conversion to EUR at the time of purchase. This allows you to hold your crypto and exchange to real-life currency only when you need to. No need to pre-convert your cryptocurrencies or preload the card.

From all crypto cards we reviewed, Kast Card, WhiteBIT Card and Holyheld Card offer the cheapest crypto-to-fiat conversions (~0%, ~0.28% and ~0.5% respectively), while converting crypto with OWNR Card will cost you the most, ~4.64%.
How Does Kinesis Card Compare to Other Crypto Cards?

If you plan to use your card for daily purchases, then daily spending limit is an important consideration for you. Kinesis Card offers the highest daily spending limit of 15,000 EUR. You will get lower daily limits with Bitpanda Card and Nexo Card.
Cashback rewards are a great way to earn back some of the money you spend on your card and is an important consideration as well. Both Bitpanda Card and Nexo Card offer solid cashback rewards of up to 2%. With Kinesis Card, you will have no cashback rewards at all.
To make a good choice, look through all features, as it is an individual choice. If you will mostly do online transactions with this card, then Apple Pay availability may not be a very important feature for you. If you travel a lot, foreign exchange rate will matter. And so on.
