Gate Card Benefits and Rewards
Gate Card offers a 1% USDT cashback on every in-store and online purchase you make.
Reality CheckAlthough other cards may advertise higher cashback rates, entry-level users with 1,000 EUR in assets typically receive much lower cashback rates from those cards. When compared at the entry-level tier, Gate Card's 1% cashback offers more value:

Gate Card is a Prepaid Card
Gate Card is very much like a traditional prepaid card that carries its own balance, and you'll need to top it up before use.
It should be noted that Gate.io doesn't offer a bank account with this card (while some crypto cards do), which means you won't be able to receive third-party payments, like fiat withdrawals from exchanges, for example.
It's Offered in Physical Form, Without an Instant Virtual Equivalent
Gate Card is available solely in physical form, unlike 30% of crypto cards offering both physical and virtual versions. This means you'll have to wait for its arrival by mail after completing the KYC Identity Verification.
Wondering about the pros and cons of physical-only format? Here are some highlights:

ATM Withdrawals | No Second Card Number |
Required for Car Rentals, Hotels | No Instantly Available Card |
Useful When Phone Dies, or no Wifi | Cannot Separate Online Purchases for Safety |
Backup Payment Method | Cannot Have a 2nd Card with Lower Spend Limits |
Inconvenience:Since Gate Card doesn't support Apple Pay, you will have to take it out of your wallet everytime you pay for something (unless you use Curve).

Crypto-to-EUR Conversion Cost with Gate Card
Gate Card Requires Pre-Load
Before you can use your Gate Card, you will need to top-up your account. This means you will have to convert your crypto in advance, exchanging it to EUR and moving it to the card account, to make it available for spending.
Low Cost:Compared to the average ~1.8% crypto-to-fiat cost of other cards, converting crypto with Gate Card is much more cost-effective (~1.15%). This means that you will get more EUR for your crypto when using this card.

Cashback rewards are a great way to earn back some of the money you spend on your card and is an important consideration as well. Out of the three, xPortal Card offers the best cashback rewards of up to 5%. The cashback rewards for Gate Card and Nexo Card are not as high.

Gate Card ATM Fees: The Real Cost of Cashing Out
Local ATM Withdrawals in EUR
Here's a breakdown of the fees you'll face when making local ATM withdrawals with your Gate Card:
Starting with an initial amount of 200 EUR in ETH, the ATM withdrawal with Gate Card will cost you a total of ~7.28 EUR (3.6% of 200 EUR), resulting in a final cash withdrawal of 192.72 EUR in hand.
Doesn't Gate Card Offer Free ATM Withdrawals?
Yes, Gate.io offers free ATM withdrawals for up to 200 EUR per month, in line with the average limit of 200 EUR offered by other cards.
When they say 'free', they are only referring to their ATM Withdrawal Fee, which will be waived for the first 200 EUR withdrawn per month. In our example, if you withdraw 200 EUR, this waiver saves you 1.98 EUR, reducing your local ATM withdrawal cost to around 5.3 EUR, compared to the standard cost of approximately 7.28 EUR.
International non-EUR ATM Withdrawals
Things will get significantly worse for International ATM Withdrawals. If you're out of country and cashing out with your Gate Card, here's what it will look like:
For an international withdrawal using your Gate Card with an initial 200 EUR in ETH, you'll incur fees totaling ~17.16 EUR (8.6% of 200 EUR), leaving you with 182.84 EUR in the equivalent foreign currency.
Reality CheckCompared to other crypto cards, Gate Card is more cost-effective for both local and international ATM withdrawals:
Cost with Gate Card | Cost with Other Cards | |
